Health officials are sounding the alarm as cases of vaccine-resistant whooping cough, a highly contagious respiratory illness, continue to rise at an alarming rate. Constitutional Amendment to Address "Mass Casualty" Event, Aiming to Rapidly Replace House Members and Ensure Government Continuity

Image
U.S. lawmakers are proposing a new constitutional amendment to prepare for a potential "mass casualty" event that could incapacitate a large number of House representatives, disrupting the function of the federal government.  The bipartisan group, including Reps. Derek Kilmer (D-Wash.), Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), William Timmons (R-S.C.), and Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.), aims to create a system for rapidly replacing House members should at least 100 seats become vacant, as might occur during a significant terror attack or other catastrophic event entry. Currently, House vacancies are filled by special elections, a process that can take months, which poses a challenge in times of crisis. Under the proposed amendment, each representative would submit a list of five potential replacements to their state’s governor, who would appoint one as a temporary member within 10 days of the vacancy.  This would provide continuity in governance until a special election can be held. The proposal ad...

Not Again! Go Madame President! Win!

#NotAgain  New Marist polling Thursday September 26, 2024 from shows Vice President Kamala Harris trailing Donald Trump in Arizona and Georgia by 1 percentage point. In Arizona, Harris is struggling to match Biden's 2020 support among key groups, particularly Latinos. Despite Harris’s challenges, the Arizona Senate race shows Democrat Ruben Gallego with a 10-point lead over Republican Kari Lake. New polls show Harris narrowly trailing Trump in the battleground states of Arizona and Georgia. Harris is underperforming among key demographics, including Latinos, compared to Biden in 2020, but she has a slight edge with independents. Real Clear Polling recently shifted its Electoral College map forecast, moving Minnesota from leaning towards Kamala Harris to a toss-up in the 2024 presidential race. This change suggests that former President Donald Trump could compete for Minnesota, a state that has consistently voted Democratic for 12 elections. With this shift, Trump now leads Harri...

. Rest in Heaven, Frankie Beverly. You were a Great One. We loved you. Sweet God Almighty, I hope I have sense enough to delete this after I write it. You’ve been warned. We were so glad when Joe Biden won. He re-opened the Office of Pandemic and we all collectively signed in tearful releif. The torture has ended. We all had to get shots—COVID shots after fooling around with a dangerous presidency. No disrespect intended. I am not a bargaining chip you can use. Many of us resent this position we are placed as chattle to be moved around in and out to the benefit of others who do not hold this country in high regard.
